Canon 1D Mark IV
Search the internet for “Nocturne” to see just how good this camera is and why you need it. Full 1080, 24p, slow motion, dual processors, insanely high ISO and low noise.

Canon EOS 7D
Our current camera. Currently the only DSLR on the market that shoots full 1080 at 24p as well as does everything else we need. Low light and image quality isn’t quite as good as the Mark II, but with its dual-processors and large sensor (it’s approximately the same size as the RED One’s), the Canon 7D is a great choice for filmmakers.

Canon 5D Mark II
We shot with the Mark II for a good while before “upgrading” to a 7D. And while the image quality is better, it only shoots in 30p, which is extremely limiting. Supposedly sometime next year, they’re planning a firmware update to fix this, but who knows when that will come out and if it will even include 60p at 720 for slow motion like the 7D. Still, a great little camera if you don’t need the framerates. Be warned, it’s full frame so only EF lenses will work.

Kingston Elite Pro 32GB 133x CompactFlash Memory Card
These are the CF cards you want. Recommended (sortof) by Stu Maschwitz and also what we currently use in our 7D. We have two of these, which lets us shoot all day long. Never had any problem with these with the Mark II or 7D (so far). And they’re heckuva lot cheaper than Extreme IV’s.

Canon LP-E6 Battery Pack
For 5D Mark II and 7D. Features built-in electronics so you can keep track of which battery is which. Pretty much the most advanced battery you’ll ever use. Lasts a good long while, but we have two extras just in case. We recommend one extra.
