Normally I perform a bass roll-off on my own voice and bump up the midranges by +1.5; otherwise I tend to come off as a low-rent James Earl Jones.
However, stay tuned for our review on Soundbooth, where I tune-up my own voice!

Liked your review. If you have time you might re-mix the sound. The voice is boomy but low in volume. I had to put volume up +2 and bass - 2 to hear the voice distinctly. There is a resonance in the low range that is distracting. Try a little EQ. Thanks for taking the time to put up the review

It can be said that editing is precisely what the editor requires; everything else is simple luxury.
I've seen solid short films that were cut in Microsoft MovieMaker. And if Brakhage can make a short by "cutting" (and pasting) a film strip with tape and glue, then PP 1.5 can be considered relatively elite.
In retrospect, I still intend to use my modest Vegas Pro for small, quick projects; Premiere CS4 for longer ones.

Yeah, PPro 1.5. I have Premiere 6.0 for my Mac (it's an older Mac, pre-OS X).
Hey, you use what you can afford...

All the new features in CS4 (and CS3, for that matter) are all well and good, but I get by with my obsolete Production Suite (PPro 1.5, Photoshop CS, Encore 1.5, After Effects 6.5).
The newer suite is very sweet (no pun intended), but out of my price range.
Still, it's good to see reviews from real users, as opposed to people who do nothing but write about software.
